Sara has 20 years of combined experience in federal environmental management and local government planning. She strives to generate meaningful and inspiring public participation in complex social, economic, and environmental settings in a holistic and future-focused way. Her core belief is that we make better decisions together. In 2019, Sara became the first certified planner (AICP) to also be a Certified Public Participation Professional (CP3) in the United States. Her planning work has focused on inviting disenfranchised communities to develop new paths for inclusive productive relationships with local government for community planning. In 2020, she shared leadership in neighborhood planning with the Southside Community Association, which resulted in a plan, which won the International Association of Public Participation’s (IAP2) International and USA Core Values Awards, and the Arizona Chapter of the American Planning Associations award for Public Outreach. Sara is a member of IAP2s Committee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and a judge for the IAP2 USA Core Values awards. Sara holds an MSP in Urban and Regional Planning from the Florida State University, and a BA in Sociology with a minor in Public Policy from the University of Notre Dame. Read Less
