The Future Is Now: Autonomous Vehicles & Planning

Autonomous vehicles (AVs) continue to advance the way we think about transportation. To help planners prepare their communities for AVs, APA released a suite of resources. Among these include APA’s AV policy principles, an in-depth research report, a new podcast series and a federal update. Where to begin? Check to see if Arizona is among those planning for AV technology and consider engaging with local affiliates of organizations, such as the National League of Cities, that APA has collaborated with at a national level.

The AICP Commission recently approved the AICP Candidate Pilot Program to be launched in late 2017. This pilot provides an expanded path to certification while maintaining the current steps to becoming AICP.
