Overview

Take-Away: Learn about a regional resilient building code initiative and how this ambitious, collaborative effort supports local climate objectives for communities.

Description: The Resilient Southwest Building Code Collaborative is a collective effort by eleven local jurisdictions to transform building construction practices across the southwest to achieve highly efficient and climate resilient buildings while preserving affordability and regional characteristics, supporting market transformation, expanding job access for disadvantaged communities, and educating communities about the critical role of buildings in community resilience, health, and financial stability. This unique approach has communities working together on a shared regional resilience code that advances their individual community goals. Staff from partner cities will discuss how this ambitious effort supports their local climate resilience commitments, plans, and policies.
