Overview

Take-Away: Learn ways to communicate the fiscal impacts of development and utilize fiscal analysis to inform growth and development decisions.

Description: Most cities strive to be fiscally responsible, inclusive, and resilient. Unfortunately, policies and investments rarely align with these outcomes, often prioritizing autocentric growth without fully considering long-term costs. We’re left with fragile local economies, growing affordability and infrastructure funding gaps, and neighborhoods people struggle to connect with and invest in. This session will highlight how to use fiscal sustainability as a common language to align vision, policies, and investments around cultivating fiscally productive development with diverse housing and mobility options so that we can get back to building vibrant communities we can afford to live in and maintain.
