Take-Away: You will be provided with statutory tools and tax incentives for Downtown Revitalization efforts for smaller Rural and Tribal Communities.

Description: The session will focus on planning tools for small community downtown core area revitalization and what tools are available through Arizona Revised Statutes, namely Redevelopment Plans, General Plans, Zoning (Historic Preservation) Overlays, Infill Incentive Districts, Government Property Lease Excise Taxes (GPLETs), Adaptive Reuse, and other statutory tools. Examples include the redevelopment plan for Gila Bend Block 14, Old Town Cottonwood Special Planning District and the Town of Florence Historic Downtown and Revitalization Planning efforts. You will hear the means used by an Arizona tribe to restore a 100-year old building along its main street and otherwise rejuvenate its historic downtown.
