Take-Away: A broad overview of the planning and development process, lessons learned, and challenges for BTR projects in Arizona.

Description: This multidisciplinary panel discussion will include an architectural designer, a civil engineer, a development specialist, and a planner, each with unique perspectives gained from experiences within the single-family rental housing sector. This session will provide insight into the practical application of many standard planning tools and techniques used on this non-traditional development type. Panelists will discuss their roles in Build-to-Rent development, and will focus on: • Current and projected market demand • Opportunities and constraints for developers • Community benefits of non-traditional housing development • Challenges in the entitlements process • Design and construction challenges • Response to BTR from planning boards and governing bodies
