Overview

Take-Away: Participants will gain understanding of diverse stakeholders’ perspectives on local housing changes and opportunities for mutual benefit.

Description: Diverse kinds of housing changes are in progress in Arizona localities, including new multifamily development, adaptive reuse, short-term rentals, and revisions to regulations to allow graduated density (e.g., ADUs, etc.). Some of these changes are fueling concern about neighborhood quality of life and wellbeing. This session will explore varied perspectives on these changes, including from a Phoenix neighborhood leader, a researcher studying housing sentiments statewide, a housing developer, a planning firm, and an architect. Opportunities for mutual benefit among stakeholders will be identified.
