APA Arizona welcomes Office of Recovery Programs Director Veronica Soto, FAICP, from the U.S. Department of the Treasury as this year’s keynote speaker. Veronica is a high performing executive with over 25 years of experience working in demographically diverse areas and specializing in and overseeing housing policies and programs. She will share her journey towards planning equity and the role of equity in all policies, particularly housing. Veronica will address the use of equity in the development of policy, program ideation and implementation with a particular focus on housing affordability issues. She will use examples from her career and life experience as examples of how policy work benefits from lived experience. She will use local examples as well as federal policy programs as examples of how equity embedded from the ideation and policy stage makes a real-life impact to those the public sector serves.
