APA 2016 Conference

On behalf of the Local Host Committee, we want to thank everyone who stepped up to volunteer to make this a most successful inaugural National Planning Conference in Phoenix. Our Arizona planners led mobile workshops, spoke at sessions, staffed the local exhibit booths, handed out materials at our information booth, shared on social media, set up our various receptions and even bartended at the opening reception! Jill, Felipe and I appreciate everyone’s participation.

The conference had 4,350 attendees. Planners from across the nation were raving about their experience in Phoenix and the state. They were impressed by our hospitality and noted we have set the bar for opening receptions to come. Many came early or stayed after the conference to visit other parts of our state including the amazing Grand Canyon.

It would not have been possible for APA Arizona to host such a successful conference without the amazing support of our chapter sponsors. Please take a moment to review the list and another moment to acknowledge their support the next time you interact with the sponsor.

We are fortunate to have so many willing planners who help make this a great place to live. Thanks again for all you did to make the conference a success and all you do on a daily basis in our great state!

Warm regards,
Debra Stark, AICP, President, American Planning Association, Arizona Chapter
Jill Kusy Hegardt, AICP, Co-Chair, 2016 National Planning Conference Local Host Committee
